The staff of St Irenaeus consists at present of the following four academics:
The V. Revd. Dr. Andrew Louth, Honorary Fellow of VU’s Faculty of Theology, former Visiting Professor at VU and Professor Emeritus of Patristic and Byzantine Studies, Durham University (UK);
The Revd. Dr. Michael Bakker, Rector of St Irenaeus, has completed his doctoral thesis Towards a Critical Edition of the Old Slavic New Testament at Universiteit van Amsterdam and focuses his present research on the dialogue between Orthodox Church Fathers and modern psychology;
The V. Revd. Dr. John Behr, the Metropolitan Kallistos (Ware) Chair of Orthodox Theology at VU and the Fr Georges Florovsky Distinguished Professor of Patristics at St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, one of the most preeminent and prolific Orthodox theologians alive today;
The Revd. Dr. Joan Lena, lecturer in Orthodox liturgical theology, who has completed his doctoral thesis in Byzantine Paleography on codices with homilies of Church Fathers and Orators, titled “The Panegyrikon Codex Type and its Liturgical Function. A New Catalogue Model”, and has worked for the last sixteen years as a Bible translator for the Interconfessional Bible Society of Albania.
